Caroline Street, Baltimore, MD 21287 Shift: Casual, on-call Day Shift; 8:00am - 4:30pm Non-Exempt Position Summary: Under general supervision and in consultation with the Radiologist performs mammographic procedures of a routine and difficult nature. Participates in scheduling procedures for the Breast Imaging Center. Also trains and evaluates other technologist in performing mammographic procedures. Education: Work requires completion of an AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, which normally is acquired in a two-year college or technical school program. Work Experience: 3 to 6 Months experience performing mammography Radiology procedures Licensure/Certification: ARRT Mammography certified with current registration. Radiography license by the Maryland Board of Physicians required. CPR certification required within three months of employment. Knowledge/Skills: Requires comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the anatomy of the breast and proficiency in performing Radiology examination of the breast as acquired in one to two years of directly related experience. Analytical ability required to schedule patients with available mammography rooms; calculate and select proper technical factors to ensure proper machine function; determine appropriate patient positioning to achieve specialized examinations. Active participation in student instruction in radiologic procedures required. Instruction to patients explaining x-ray procedures being performed is required. Ability to plan and prioritize work loads and function as technical resource, troubleshooter. Requires interpersonal skills.
