The ideal candidate will possess strong Nursing Leadership skills at the Director level and core knowledge and passion for Peri-Operative Nursing. JOB SUMMARY: Has as his/her primary duty the overall management of Peri-operative Services within the system with 24-hour accountability for operations. Is responsible for short and long-term planning, staffing, and development of a budget for the departments. Integrates interdepartmental and intradepartmental services to achieve objectives. Establishes policies, procedures, standards, and objectives for the departments consistent with organizational goals. Works through managerial and supervisory personnel to accomplish set goals and objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Participates with appropriate members of the leadership team in the strategic planning process for System-wide patient care functions and the planning/services planning. Conducts service line strategic planning in line with system and organization strategic plans.Leads development of policies, procedures, productivity, and quality targets/benchmarks to ensure effective/efficient services and compliance with standards of the system and external licensing, accreditation, professional organizations, and regulatory bodies that demonstrate equality and continuity of services and recognize cultural, economic, and social differences among health care consumers.Develops financial projections, leading to the development of operational and capital budgets, and manages budgets to ensure optimum financial performance of respective departments. Oversees the allocation and use of fiscal and physical resources, and monitors performance against developed plans.Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with the medical staff, other system-wide departments, and external stakeholders to improve service, access, and quality.Oversees and/or performs personnel functions such as recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and carrying out discipline procedures in accordance with Human Resources policies, oversees the establishment of performance objectives, and assessment and maintenance of good staff relations. Works actively with team members to establish and improve engagement and workforce development.Participates in and directs the development and implementation of marketing plans for programs/services as appropriate in order to ensure that community and targeted populations are aware of the system and its services.Monitors performance of respective departments and oversees or performs data collection and reporting on department activities and performance. What You Need to Be Successful:Master''s degree required.Meets licensing requirements to practice registered nursing in the State of Maryland.Minimum of five (5) years experience in middle management level, and previous relative clinical experience.Certification in Nurse Executive required or be eligible to sit for the exam.Knowledge of licensure and regulatory agency requirements.Eastern Shore residence is strongly preferred for success in this We are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
