Responsibilities Defense Systems Program Manager will work closely with the Space Systems Command and have a critical role in the development and growth in Space Force and Air Force Mission Systems business areas. The Program Manager is accountable for the testing and success of the Global Positioning System. The Program Manager will work closely with engineering subject matter experts from Draper and collaborating industrial firms, federally-funded research and development centers, non-profit R&D intitutions. The Program Manager will lead the detailed planning and execution of complex technical projects and deliver results to the company. The candidate should have a general understanding of the industrial support base and strong interest in Department of Defense programs. The candidate should be able to show past performance in the creation of new products and/or services. The candidate should be able to create Executive level presentations and engage in strategic partnership development activities. The candidate should have experience and a degree in one of the following engineering disciplines: Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, or Computer Science. Position requires about 25 percent travel. Qualifications Required Qualifications : * Two years devising and implementing solutions to problems related to one or more of the above areas, i.e GN&C, PNT, etc.* Five years of experience in a multi-disciplinary environment focused on contract research and development (CRAD), specifically in new business capture, proposal development, technology evaluation, strategy development, program management, and technical contribution.* Experience leading engineering teams with focus on system development and integration in operational environments.* Broad understanding of the application of technology in defense environments.* Demonstrated product vision and experience driving a focused team with the ability to inspire innovation.* Active security clearance with the US government. Preferred Qualifications : * Master''s or Ph.D. in Engineering or Science related disciplines.* Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and export regulations.
