Position DescriptionJob Purpose:Assemble and rebuild electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies with high efficiency, reliability and durability. Provide advanced-level technical support to other staff and departmentsDuties and Responsibilities:Production-level assembly of instrument-level electromechanical assemblies, including assembly, quality verification, and functional testDetailed work on electronic assembly, including some component solderingRepair or rework electrical or electro-mechanical components following standard processes and procedures verificationInspect and/or test components to ensure qualityFollow strict ESD protection proceduresDevelop and implement improvements to assembly and repair procedures Assist in training and development of other staff Maintain the work area and tools in an organized, professional mannerPerform other tasks as assigned by managementRequirements Work independently under limited supervision Ability to read and follow written instructions, drawings Ability to use and read standard measurement equipment for volts, amps, ohms, pressure, temperature, flow, etc. Ability to use, at a basic level, office productivity software (e.g. MS Outlook, Word and Excel)Must be able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with fellow technicians, engineers and managersQualifications: 4 years'' experience in a technical position working with electronic and/or electromechanical assemblies Associates degree in a technical field strongly preferred Equivalent demonstrated experience, skills and performance may be considered as an alternative to the above two qualifications Ability to use common hand tools Ability to use office productivity tools, including MS Office software and ERP programs (e.g., NetSuite)Ability to pass a substance abuse screening test and background investigationAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics is a plusWorking Conditions: Work primarily in air conditioned environment. Some work in heated (non-air conditioned) warehouse areas. Normal working hours 7:00 -- 3:30 Monday-Friday. Some weekday and weekend overtime may be required. In rare instances, position may require working split shift or second shift.Occasional (rare) travel may be required, including possible overseas travel
