Senior Design Engineer

PPG Aerospace is now hiring a Senior Design Engineer ! As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be the lead design engineer on key new programs and oversee the activity of design engineers and structures analysts in the group and review and approve test plans, certification test reports, and results of finite element analysis as they apply to PPG transparencies products. Key Responsibilities: Maintain a high level of interaction with customers, sales, product support engineering, program management, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory agencies is required. Remain technically aware of the market and industry trends, government and international regulations, customer requirements, and PPG Aerospace Transparencies manufacturing process requirements. Technical responsibilities include providing design and program certification support to the Huntsville, Sylmar, Texas, and Aerospace manufacturing facilities through the effective use of engineering skills and experience in such disciplines as structural design and analysis, electrical design, product testing, and product certification. Actively participate in the New Product Introduction process and Technical Reviews and Management Gate Reviews and will be a key contributor in the engineering review board (ERB) and material review board (MRB) processes. Provide continuous improvement for the department''s environmental, health and safety, quality, and value performance to ensure an injury-free workplace, 100% compliance to customer satisfaction while meeting plant profitability objectives, and from time to time will participate in safety, quality, and value improvement teams. Qualifications : US Citizen or Permanent Resident. Must possess a strong background in concepts particular to aircraft design and analysis of aircraft flight loads along with a thorough understanding of structural mechanics and the Finite Element Method. BS Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
