A multi-disciplined, electro-mechanical technician will be responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and/or modification of the plants computer driven controls systems and the plants mechanical and electrical systems. This position is involved in fabrication, application, installation and repair of mechanical and electromechanical equipment and carrying out administrative tasks associated with equipment history, work requests, and spare parts. The candidate is expected to operate semi-autonomous, following company and industry standard procedures to maintain a safe and professional working environment at all times. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Day to day trouble shooting, repair and installation of low and high voltage (single/three-phase) industrial electromechanical control systems for utility production equipment. This includes both building electrical and machine electrical panels. Independently troubleshooting and repairing problems with Programmable Logic Controllers and related components.Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of equipment or systems repairs or replaces defective components. Test and calibrate electrical/electronic systems and components to ensure that they are operating properly or locate defects. Assembles and installs electrical and electro-mechanical components and systems. Interface with equipment operators and maintenance staff to ascertain problems with equipment. Involvement in planning, fabricating and installing new equipment/ equipment upgradesExpected to actively participate in breakdown analysis, design for maintainability, kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.Adhere to all safety programs and policiesWork closely and professionally with internal customers to meet safety, production and equipment reliability goals.Perform other related duties as required by management. Key qualifications include:High school diploma required. Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate preferred.Two to three years and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience in electrical and mechanical service and maintenance.General understanding and hands on experience with safe work environments. Knowledge of applicable NEC and NFPA codes. Complete understanding of Plant electrical systems, including DC voltage and AC voltage from 24V to 480V. Experience using both DC and AC motors, VF Drives and Servo Controlled Systems (Allen Bradley preferred). Minimum 2 years trouble-shooting Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen-Bradley preferred). Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and modify electrical prints, schematics, engineering drawings and sketches to determine problem, document self-created changes, and make appropriate repairs.Availability to work overtime and/or occasional off-shift repair calls.Experience with AutoCAD, MS Office desired.Machining and/or welding experience a plus.General Expectations:Be available to work overtime when needed and occasionally respond to off-shift repair calls, equipment failure events.Pursues training and development opportunities to keep up with advancing technologies, and continuously build knowledge and skill-set.
