Job Description

Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patients'' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.Education:Associated Degree in Nursing RequiredLicensure & Certification:Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of IndianaCPR requiredACLS required or completed within 90 days of hire.Experience: Operating Room RN - Minimum of 2 yrs. peri-operative experience, preferably in an ambulatory setting preferred.Prior knowledge of surgical instrumentation and peri-operative equipment preferred.General Responsibilities:Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive nursing care during the Ambulatory Surgery visit including the pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases. Coordinates total patient care in association with other health team members. Follows Center policies, procedures and AORN guidelines of caring for the surgical mitment to Purpose and Community Cares Standards of Behavior - Demonstrates a commitment to the organization''s mission, vision and values supporting organizational decisions and behaviors. Contributes to the development and implementation of systems and processes ensuring strategic goal attainment.
