CHPA partners with its member companies to promote a more inclusive industry and to support a broader diversity, equity, and inclusion effort to ensure equity for CHPA''s staff and consumers in the United States.CHPA fosters employee engagement and reward staff through challenging work, competitive compensation and benefits, flexible scheduling and time-off options, and opportunities to grow and develop professionally.Position SummaryThe Coordinator, Communications & Media Relations coordinates and manages many of the day-to-day communications and media related projects and activities that support and assist the entire communications department including member communications, social media, media clips/surveillance and other projects as assigned.This position reports directly to the VP, Communications & Public Affairs, and requires effective collaboration with all other members of the communications department.Essential FunctionsThis position description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required for this job. Reasonableaccommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:MEDIA RELATIONS- Assist with media relations, including helping to draft and post press releases and/or statements, track news media, identify media placement results, and maintain media contact databases- Coordinate the publication of daily media clips reports via Meltwater- Coordinate and maintain the content in the online newsroomSOCIAL MEDIA- Coordinate daily digital/social communications (i.e. LinkedIn, Twitter) including generating content and editorial calendars for Communications, Public Affairs, and CEO.MEMBER COMMUNICATIONS- Coordinate the publication of weekly member e-newsletters (i.e. VOICE andDIGEST)- Utilize the CHPA video studio and tools for various communications as needed- Develop and track metrics to evaluate the success and impact of communications efforts for projects described above- Participate in member-related communications activities as requested and assigned such as committees, task groups, and advocacy and educational programmingEXECUTIVE COMMUNICATIONS- Provide coordination and support for the VP and others working on executive communicationsOTHER- Coordinate relationships with various outside vendors and/or agencies who provide support for CHPA communications (i.e. Naylor, Meltwater)- Maintain working knowledge of communications trends and technologies and recommend changes to communication strategy as needed for assigned projects- Assist with other projects as assigned, to support overall the department andAssociationPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands handle, type, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This is largely a sedentary role however some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool, as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 10 lbs.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. CHPA anticipates continuing its hybrid work environment(working remotely and in the office) indefinitely, however, the employee is required to be readily available to work several times a week in Washington, DC, based on the needs of this position. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and must work at least37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment.
