Title: Registered Nurse GYN Division: ClinicDepartment: ClinicFLSA Status: Non-exemptReports To: Sr. Director, Practice AdministrationDirect Reports: None Purpose: Under the direction of the Sr. Director, Practice Administration and the GYN Providers, the GYN RN functions as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team in providing the highest quality of care to the patient.Key Job Responsibility Areas Clinical ResponsibilitiesCoordination of GYN Clinic Appointments and Procedures DocumentationMiscellaneousDetail of Key Job Responsibility Areas Clinical ResponsibilitiesPractice within the NYS Registered Nurse scope of practice and maintain annual competenciesProvide quality care to patients based on evidence-based best practice standardsCollect data (vitals, height, weight, etc.), assess and triage patients, assist with Obstetrics/Gynecologic procedures and nursing support to patients and providersDemonstrate flexibility to optimize clinic flow, minimize patient wait times, maximize provider productivity in clinic, and optimize the patient experienceFacilitate excellent communication with patients through in-office communication plus phone calls, portal messages, and lettersParticipate in the clinic orientation of new nursing team membersParticipate in and support of Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement activitiesFollow AIDET and service recovery expectationsCoordinate Care for GYN patientsWork with the interdisciplinary health care team to facilitate care Work with interdisciplinary health care team to keep patients engagedDemonstrate positive communication and teamwork within clinic and between departmentsCoordination of GYN Clinic Appointments and ProceduresProvide RN support for patients and providers during GYN appointmentsCoordinate ordering and inventory of GYN supplies, equipment, and oversee equipment functionalityParticipate in QA/PI activities related to GYNInvestigate GYN best practices at other clinics and as appropriate recommend practice and policy updates that reflect evidence-based standards for excellence in GYN. Educate other team members including nurses and providers in GYN procedures and best practices. Other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequires active NYS Registered Nurse license. The ability to demonstrate teamwork and effective interpersonal relations skills is imperative. Excellent written/oral communication and computer skills are required. Current CPR certification and experience working in community-based health care settings is also preferred. Experience working in GYN clinic is preferred, but not required. Experience with OB/GYN in an outpatient setting is desired. Previous experience with an Electronic Health Record is desired. Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Occasionally the employee must stoop, bend and lift or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
