Perform other tasks as requiredEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform mechanical repairs on equipment breakdowns as needed.Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and / or machinery in assigned area of concentrationModify new and existing equipment to meet the needs of production and quality standardsInstall new equipment in plant as requiredPerform duties in the maintenance: fabricating, welding, repairing and rebuilding parts (pumps, cylinders, etc.)Follow lockout / tagout proceduresMaintain and keep accurate records and documentation as requiredRegular attendance requiredMaintain a clean work environmentAssist maintenance personnel in other work areas as neededAttend department safety and quality meetingsFollow department and company safety guidelinesParticipate in Lean initiativesKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the department and other pertinent rules / regulations governing work standards. Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic technology. Knowledge of hazardous materials and safe handling procedures. Ability to read blueprints. Ability to use a welder and cutting torch.Minimum Requirements:Education: High School Diploma or GEDExperience: Two years of mechanical industrial maintenance experience required.Working Conditions:Physical Requirements:Heavy work. Tasks involves pushing / pulling, lifting, and handling material up to 100 pounds plus standing and walking during a minimum twelve hour shift.Environment:Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature extremes, loud noises and bright lights.
