Job Description

Training Specialist III Serves as a Training Specialist III providing the primary capability for the conceptualization, development, and execution of computer-assisted joint exercises and rehearsals. Position is for an Training Specialist with strong joint background with JCATS. Responsibilities: • SME- responsibilities include being a SME on operational techniques, tactics, and procedures of maneuver forces to assist in simulating such actions in supported training events with Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS). • Conduct the Operator or Database portion of New Equipment Trainings (NETs) and Update trainings. • International travel to provide customers with introductory JCATS training. • Responsible for supporting the training audiences'' training objectives at all exercise events by being knowledgeable in all areas of the exercise control group operations, to include the event scenario, the Master Scenario Event List (MSEL), the Area of Responsibility, and the role and responsibilities of component response cells. Including platform instruction in the primary simulations, maintaining proficiency in joint and service doctrine, and maintaining certification in specified models and simulations. • Utilize a provided database to create scenarios for specific analytical tasks. When necessary, shall make edits to the provided database to suit analysis requirements. Shall return all copies of the database when analysis is complete. • Provide in-person support to sites worldwide as directed by LLNL. Support includes operator-level training, operator support during run-time, on-call, virtual or telephonic support to events occurring worldwide, and after-action comments and notes on event performance/conduct. • As an additional duty, must be capable of supporting simulation development efforts as simulation new version tester, update training materials as necessary, and participate in beta testing and acceptance testing as requested. Requirements • Minimum of 8 years'' experience as a commissioned officer, non-commissioned officer, or DOD civilian equivalent including 5 years'' experience in planning and conducting military training for a service or joint/combined organization. • Skilled in all aspects of communications for briefings, presentations, and classroom instructions. • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications. • Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet Secret clearance level eligibility requirements for access to classified information. • Secret clearance Required. • Must be able to travel unassisted to CONUS and overseas locations to perform duties in a variety of environments. • Must be a US citizen. • Bachelor''s degree desired.
