SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Acoustic Systems Engineer. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Job Summary: The Acoustic Systems Engineer primary duties requires the training, skill and experience necessary to conduct detailed, complex system engineering activities associated with life cycle submarine and surveillance systems design. These activities include function and system level requirements analysis, requirements documentation and distribution, market/trade studies and analysis, analysis of alternatives, specification development, development and system integration support, test (both factory and at-se) and logistics. Duties of a acoustics systems engineer typically include managing the development cycle associated with producing a resilient software, hardware SONAR systems that will also include both processing aspects as well as sensors. The Acoustic Systems Engineer - Submarine acousticand surveillance Systems, will work with NUWC toexecute SONAR system design and fielding efforts for the Acousticprocessing System on submarines and surveillance platforms. These activitiesare categorized as Capability Definition, Baseline Management, Integration,Test and Fielding support. The Acoustics Systems Engineer is desired towork with the NUWC Newport team to provide technical support during theexecution of these activities. The Acoustics Systems Engineer wouldbe considered a part of the NUWC team and receive direction from the ChiefEngineer, lead systems engineer, and Principleinvestigators. In addition, coordination and interfacing with PEO-SSN, PEO-USW, PEO-SSBN, OEM(s), and industrypartners would be necessary. Essential Capabilities: * Assisting in generating and reviewing Requirements Specifications* Participating in Test Events, System Assessments * Utilization of diagnostic and test tools* Modeling support with commercial tool sets* Participation in ARCI (SUBS and Surveillance) engineering meetings* Support for Platform Integration activities including review of Government Furnished Information (GFI) for technical quality and design analysis of the various vendor critical milestone reviews (IDR, FDR, PDR, CDR). * Support in the logistics life cycle, including FMEA analysis as well as sustainment analysis Required knowledge includes familiarity with acoustic systems, both from a processing and sensor design perspective. Applicants with an understanding of the Technical Insertion (TI) Advanced Processor Build (APB), DEVOPS development processes, and Cybersecurity knowledge/experience is a plus. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in engineering discipline. Advancedmilitary technical training (e.g. Navy ''C'' School) and 6 years''experience in military systems (e.g., service abroad a naval ship) can besubstituted for a Bachelor''s degree. Experience: 5 years of related work experience in acoustics. The ideal candidate would have 10 year''s submarine SONAR System experience and 3 years of professional experience in systems engineering Location: Newport, RI Travel: 5% Clearance: Secret SEACORP follows ITAR guidelines for the work it performs as a federal contractor. Consequently, US citizenship is needed for all positions requiring a security clearance.
