Quality Technician I

Jessup Manufacturing is seeking a Quality Technician to join our team in Lake Bluff, IL.Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Technician assures that products meet performance and quality standards through testing, measurement, and documentation. Supports Production Department with timely evaluation of incoming raw materials, work-in-process and final inspection of coated goods. Provides support for R&D and product development.Responsibilities:Maintains and implements current ISO Quality system.Assists in internal audits and compliance audits for ISO quality pletes incoming inspection of raw materials and supplies in a timely pletes work in-process and final inspection of production materials in a timely fashion.Maintains laboratory facilities, including monitoring of equipment performance and calibration, supplies, organization and cleanlinessAccurately documents quality assurance testing results and maintains all files and storage of sample retains.Assists in the investigation of customer complaints including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.Participates in continual improvement projects based upon internal audits and departmental issues.Suggests changes to improve quality, efficiency, safety, and communication as well provide support to ISO and safety programsAssists R&D in the preparation of lab samples, evaluates raw materials and performs product testing and documentation.Provides technical support to sales and customer support functions.Maintains MSDS documents and OSHA guidelines.Ability to travel and work cross functionally between both facilities as needed.Other duties as assigned or required.Qualifications: Minimum 2-3 years technical experience in a Quality Assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment or relevant experience in a laboratory, chemical, converting or pressure sensitive tape environmentBachelor''s degree in math, science, or engineering a plusExperience with product evaluation, ability to follow written protocol, excellent documentation and organizational skillsSelf-starter with strong knowledge Quality principles and laboratory practices.Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skillsISO quality system background.Outstanding attention to detail.Strong ability to identify and solve problems
