Job Title: Senior Scientific Technology Engineer - Contract to Hire - Job 3998Location: Hybrid: onsite is in Rockville MD 20852 Job DescriptionOur client is a leading government contractor. They are managing the data and voice infrastructure for a branch of the U.S. government which is involved in searching for cures and creating treatments for infectious diseases. Our client needs a consultant to execute upon the role of Scientific Technology Engineer. The consultant will be responsible for helping to enhance, upgrade and ultimately modernize the customer''s IT support and services.This is a hybrid role with the majority of the work to be performed onsite in Rockville MD. This is a contract role which is currently slated to run 9/30/2023. There is the possibility of this becoming a full time role with our client. Typical work hours will be between 8:00 -9:00 am - 5:00-6:00 pm EST. There may be times when "off hours" will be required.Responsibilities:Collaborate with engineers and scientists from our client and their customer in order to evaluate on-premise cyber infrastructure for specific projects and long-term goals.Evaluate scientific projects and provide recommendations, planning, and design of new hardware, software, and workflows to meet requirementsProvide comparative analysis and cost estimates for new scientific projectsWork with engineering and support teams to improve IT support capabilities for scientific researchPerform analysis of system components and provide recommendations to improve system availability and performanceParticipate in meetings/discussions/collaborations with customers, vendors, and internal/external teams.
