Sr Software Engineer | TS/SCI with Security Clearance

Sr Software Engineer - Philadelphia PA (SECRET) SOC is searching for an Senior level Software Engineer to support our client in Philadelphia PA for a Direct Hire opportunity. Responsibilities: * Lead analyses, design concepts, architecture definitions, and development of prototypes, engineering data management (EDM), and proof-of-concept demonstrations. * Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. * Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. * Develops intelligence application software using: Java, Relational Database Management Systems (Postgres, MySQL) in containerized environment * Develops microservice based architectures supporting Intelligence applications * Works with: * Languages/Frameworks: Java, JS, Kotlin, Golang, React * DBs: MongoDB, Postgres * Data Streaming: Confluent Kafka * CI/CD: GitCI * Git: GitLab * Kubernetes Education & Experience: * Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science or related field * 5+ years of experience in software engineering Required Skills: * Experience in analyses, design concepts, architecture definitions, and development of prototypes, engineering data management (EDM), and proof-of-concept demonstrations. * Thorough understanding and attention to detail in programming principles * Experience developing software architecture and developing code * Hands on experience with COTS, GOTS, web applications and databases * Experience integrating software components * 5+ years of experience developing software with C++ and/or Java * Experience working within a Windows and / or Unix/Linux environment * Strong skills with Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Eclipse * Familiar with UML syntax and its use * Familiar with Testing Frameworks, experience with xUnit framework such as Junit and CppUnitLite a plus * Proven knowledge and experience applying design patterns and object-oriented programming. * Experience with Database technologies such as MongoDB, Postgres, Oracle, MariaDB, or MySQL. * Proficiency in most of the following specific areas: XML, Microservices Architectures, Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), YAML, as well as knowledge of distributed computer architectures. * Direct software development experience with: * understanding Web Application Development concepts * designing and implementing RESTful web services * working within microservices based architecture * containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) * source control management tools (Gitlab, BitBucket, AWS CodeCommit) * test frameworks (JUnit, JBehave, Selenium) * Software source code security scans (Fortify) * Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3) * Data Streaming: Confluent Kafka * CI/CD: GitCI * Experience working with the Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments Desired Skills and Certifications: * GIT (Version Control software) * UCC (Universal Code Counter) * Greenhopper (Agile Development Project Management tool) * JIRA (Issue and bug tracking tool) * Crucible (Peer Code Review tool) * Bamboo (build/deployment tool) * Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) requirements * Experience in front-end development * Amazon Web Services certified * CompTIA Security+ certified Clearance: * Must be a US citizen with active Department of Defense SECRET level security clearance with the possibility of a TOP SECRET/SCI.
