To ensure clients'' and their own company''s needs are met, the Equipment Specialist works closely with the sales force and a range of departments, such as research, development, design, purchasing, production, and quality, and senior company managers. Also responsible for the installation, set-up, repair, and routine maintenance of all packaging equipment at customer facilities and Shorr warehouse/demo rooms. Provide technical and sales support to sales rep through direct customer contact. Train sales reps on sales techniques and product features and benefits. Recommend other sales municate and disseminate information with/from assigned vendors.Managing and interpreting customer requirements Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education.Listening to clients and using astute questioning to understand, anticipate and exceed their needs.Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery. Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs.Negotiating tender and contract terms, to meet both client and company needs. Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions. Assists sales reps as necessary in the sale of equipment.Coordinate customer equipment issues including set up/installation, maintenance, and customer training. Set up, install/assemble, test, adjust, and disassemble all packaging equipment.Repair packaging equipment. Diagnose problem, determine extent of repair, estimate labor time, and complete repair. Requisition or make up repair parts as necessary. Operate machine tools when necessary in repairing or installing equipment.Perform routine maintenance on all equipment. Assist with moving packaging equipmentFollow all safety rules and keep work area clean. Safely drive to and from local customers in company-owned vehicle. Attend vendor training/schools. Travel to remote customer locations when necessary. Perform minor repairs on Shorr office and facility equipment.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelors degree (BS or BA) or equivalent; or at least 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and PUTER SKILLSMicrosoft Office with emphasis on Outlook, Word and Excel. PLC programming knowledge is strongly preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical manuals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to effectively present information to top management, and/or sales representatives.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.REASONING ABILITYAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSValid and current state drivers license is required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk/hear. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, cold, heat, and vibration.
