Job Description

SUMMARYPerform inspection of military and commercial aircraft parts/components, and articles to ensure product quality and safety in accordance with AAR''s Quality Management System along with all regulatory and customer requirements. Lead and or participate in problem solving efforts to develop and implement solutions within a team environment. Self-starter with acute attention to detail is a must. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform receiving, in-process and final inspection of material and components to ensure compliance with AAR''s Quality Management System (QMS), industry standards, OEM, regulatory and customer requirements.Perform first article / first piece inspections in accordance with repair station procedures and under the guidance of AS9102.Ensure all documentation required for product certification is accurate and complete.Establish sufficient traceability of products being inspected in accordance with FAA and DoD Regulatory guidance in order to prevent the introduction of counterfeit and suspected unapproved parts into our inventory and/or customer product.Participate in incoming inspection, analysis and functional testing of all warranty claims in order to make a fact based determination as to the validity of the claim.Participate as an audit team member in support of the Quality Management System internal audit program.Lead and take ownership of issued corrective actions driving process and product improvement. Determine root cause and assess corrective action effectiveness for sustainability.Promote and apply quality, product, personal safety and cost savings initiatives while ensuring department metrics are achieved.Eligible to obtain a repairman''s certification issued by the FAA.Willing to work overtime including weekends as needed to support the ply with and maintain currency with all company and regulatory required training.Train others.All other assigned duties. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE- High school diploma or GED. - 5 year''s aviation maintenance experience preferred.PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Due to ITAR regulations, must be a US citizen or green card holder authorized to work in the United States.Must be proficient with calibrated inspection tools such as micrometer, ball gauges, Vernier calipers, depth gauge, termediate understanding of quality and inspection concepts/methodology in relation to product safety.Read, understand and properly interpret regulatory authority aviation regulations, air worthiness directives OEM tech data, engineering drawings, engineering orders, information letters and other types of documentation required for the repair and overhaul process.Possess an understanding of product certification from the Production Approval Holder and certification relative to products for return to service (airworthiness).Intermediate understanding of government property source inspection termediate use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9110Knowledge and understanding of 14 CFR 91.145 required.Experience in Aerospace and defense auditing.PHYSICAL DEMANDS WORK ENVIRONMENTThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
