Job Description

What would I be doing?As an Engineer II you would provide the second level of field engineering support to operational and technical support teams for Company''s Information Systems and System Users. Monitor, maintain and support all networked computers, associated operating systems and service applications (gaming and nongaming.) Responsible for ensuring the stability and integrity of all in-house computer and server hardware, software, voice, data, video, wired and wireless network services, including Local Area Network (LAN) services, connectivity; to include low voltage services, and works closely with Senior Field Engineers to provide exceptional customer service.ResponsibilitiesThe Engineer II develops team leadership and provide technical oversight, on-the-job training, and mentorship of first level Field Engineers with emphasis on career advancement within the CompanyProvide technical support to first level of Field Engineers by performing advanced incident troubleshooting and tracking, escalated problem resolution, assist with root cause analysis, limited product research, fault isolation development, follow-up, and documentation to include action reports to department team leadersThe Engineer II perform second level of maintenance and upgrades on network devices, computer and printer hardware and software, including the restoration of configurations with assistance from Senior Field Engineers, IT Operations Center engineers or in combined resolution efforts with vendor support engineers or technicians and authorize vendor remote access and confirm proper disconnect when support efforts are completedResponds to computer, network and data security vulnerability alerts at the property and regional levels for high priority outage restoration efforts and reports to all Company properties within the assigned regionProvide installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of basic network and basic server hardware, software, and communication links within property data centers and communications closets or where Information Technology assets are housed in a training or production environmentAnalyze and resolve basic network and server hardware and software problems in an efficient and accurate mannerFollow all safety and security precautionsThe Engineer II terminates and tests network cabling systems using Company provided tools and test equipmentPerform basic network troubleshooting and analysis with assistance from Senior field Engineers and IT Operations Center engineersProvide setup and teardown services for local, regional, and national performing acts. This includes load in, load out, and set constructionOperation and troubleshooting of computerized lighting systems for stage and industrial areas. Create and control lighting for local and regional actsConfiguration, programming, and maintenance of high-end sound equipment including mixing boards, amplifiers, audio processors, wired and wireless mic systems. Providing both front and back of house support and operation of these systems during performancesInstall and troubleshoot digital signage systems including both indoor and outdoor displays, video walls, projectors, monument, and pylon signs. Familiarity with VGA, DVI, HDMI, and Multicast preferredPerform moves/adds/changes on traditional, digital, and IP based phone and voicemail systems. Basic understanding of PRI, ISDN, POTS and IP based communication technology requiredProvide scheduled on-call support for emergency after-hours support issuesPerform inventory of Company assets and documents stock levels for department visibilityMonitor and maintain computer and user accounts for necessary and appropriate access to various software and network applications in accordance with Company policiesRecord, monitor, track, and document work performed using the Company''s tracking systemProvide Smart Device activation, programming and enrollment into Company''s Mobile Device Management System and provide initial and advanced user trainingProvide support for Company''s Marketing Media Content Delivery SystemsOther duties, as requiredIn-collaboration with and under guidance of Corporate IT functional teams: -Participate in disaster recovery testing -Participate in functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, planning, and configuration of computer and peripheral hardware -Participate in rollouts of new computer and software upgrades -Perform advanced desktop engineering functions, including computer imaging, setup and deployment in the field environment -Provide user training and support using Company configuration management tools and applications -Assist in determining product compatibility, flexibility, and recommends replacement, upgrade or retirement of Company assets during assigned dutiesWhat are we looking for?High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates of Applied Science degree in a computer science discipline or comparable level of experience preferredAbility to obtain and maintain a Missouri Gaming Commission Occupational LicenseMust have three (3) years of experience in an IT Support position, preferred, OR a combination of Network or Systems Engineering experience AND any combination of the following: -Three (3) years of applied experience with current Microsoft Windows Operating Systems -Three (3) years of experience working on enterprise desktop, and server-related projects preferred.Must have basic computer and networking skills and fundamentals, experience in a resort hotel casino environment preferredMust have a high level of technical knowledge relative to the installation and connectivity of computer and printer systems, including the configuration, maintenance, and support of new and existing solutionsMust have strong organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skillsMust be knowledgeable in basic and advanced computer and printer operation and related support and basic troubleshooting techniquesMust be able to type quickly and accurately, preferably at least 50 wpmMust have exceptional customer service, verbal and written communications, interpersonal and telephone etiquette skills; and adopt Company core valuesMust be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to effectively multi-taskMust be proficient in various Microsoft Office Suite applicationsComputer, Tablet PC, Telephones, Wireless Devices, Hand Tools, Standard Tone Test Set and other associated tools and test equipmentMust possess and demonstrate the following skills -Decision Making -Concern for Quality -Exceeds Customer Expectations - Achieving Results -Analytical Thinking -Problem solving -Communication skillsAbility to acquire gaming license, as requiredAny combination of the following certifications, experience, training preferred: -A+ Certification -Network+ OR -Cisco Certified Technician OR -CCNA CertificationAmeristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles offers an exceptional gaming and entertainment experience in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
