Maintenance Technician - All Shifts

Savencia Cheese USA LLC is a premier producer of specialty cheeses and maker of the Alouette, Chavrie, Ile De France and Supreme brands.MULTIPLE POSITONS/SHIFTS AVAILABLE.Our Maintenance Tech ensures the flow of product through the plant by keeping the equipment functioning properly. This position performs preventive and predictive maintenance on production, packaging, material handling, and mechanical equipment while also troubleshooting and repairing all Electrical & Pneumatic controls. The right candidate will be a curious self-starter who is passionate about problem solving and continuous improvement. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30 pm, with overtime and weekends as required. Pay is depending on experience + $2.50 shift differential. Starting pay is commensurate with experience and education. Our employees are eligible for yearly bonuses, yearly increases, and shift differential. Our employees enjoy the following benefits, which all start on the first day of employment: Medical, Dental and Vision Basic Life Insurance at 2 times base pay Optional Life Insurance options Short-Term Disability 401(k) with company match Vacation Time 8 Paid Major Holidays and 2 Floating Holidays Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Employee Wellness Program Educational Assistance Reimbursement Program Shift Differentials Free and discounted product Free uniformsEssential Duties of our Maintenance Technician Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs to equipment during production Maintain and repair production, packaging and material handling equipment Support machine setups and changeovers Respond to production trouble calls and repair equipment quickly and safely, test, and return to production service Troubleshoot recurring breakdowns for prevention and recommend changes Utilize testing equipment or diagnostic skills to determine root cause of problems Instruct production operators on how to prevent machine or system damage Monitor refrigeration system controls Be aware of critical spare parts needs and make relevant recommendations Monitor and repair air handling and air compressing machinery Program and set up variable frequency drives and servo motors Perform Preventive Maintenance Install or move machines or equipment Troubleshoot, wire and plumb new and existing equipment Repair floors, walls and doors Clean and organize maintenance shop area and re-stock parts Enter, collect data and use inventory and maintenance systems Participates in Continuous Improvement Process Follows all Safety and Quality policies and procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP''s) Maintain regular, predictable attendance Other duties as assignedPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Stand/Stoop/Bend - continuously Squat/Crawl - occasionally Climb Stairs or ladders - occasionally Reach - chest level, above or below - frequently Push/Pull 100 lbs - occasionally Pull - 100 lbs occasionally Lift/carry - 50 lbs occasionally Skills & Requirements Required Education and Experience High school diploma or GED; Associates degree preferred 3+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment (dairy industry desired) Ability to effectively communicate in English Basic shop mathematics and handbook formulas skills Ability to read simple blueprints or drawings and use a wide variety of tools or precision measuring instruments Experience with 3-phase electrical and pneumatic trouble shoots and repairs Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance Basic office computer skills Lock out-tag out and industrial safety experience Qualifications Savencia Cheese USA LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer (E.O.E.).
