We offer comprehensive benefits for all full-time employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) plan with employer matching; paid time off (PTO); paid parental leave; and mentorship to help you take your career to the next level.ResponsibilitiesConduct and collaborate on the design of mechanical components for commercial hybrid electric vehicles including:Custom frame cross membersCustom drive shaft components (spline shafts, u-joints, tube shafts, slip yokes, bearings, boots)Custom components for traction motor interfacing (transmission adapters, integrated shafts)Mounting brackets for traction motors, inverters, and lithium battery packsMounting brackets for auxiliaries including cooling system components (pumps, reservoirs, radiators) and microcomputersRouting of cooling hoses, high voltage, and low voltage wiringAdapt current products to new vehicle platforms driving for commonality and modularity where cost effectiveDevelop design strategies to address a wide variety of commercial vehicle platformsPerform mechanical and thermal analysis and develop models to predict component and system behaviorPerform testing to validate component and subsystem designs including management of subcontracted effortsPerform integration of mechanical systems into prototype vehicles and subsequent road testing to verify designs for productionDevelop and manage prototype component suppliers including quoting and orderingPerform Design to Value and Design for Manufacturing analysesManage R&D procurement and validation schedules to meet established platform development objectivesSupport production transition including development of production suppliersSupport configuration control of the hybrid system bill of materialsSupport development of installation and maintenance instructionsMentor interns and coops as requiredCollaborate on projects with the rest of the team, and draw on senior staff for advice, mentoring, and application of good standards for documentation and processesMinimum QualificationsBachelors Degree in Mechanical, Automotive Engineering or equivalent3+ years of automotive experienceDirect experience in the development and commercialization of electrified vehicle control systems softwareCAD experience, 3D & 2DMechanical analysis skillsPreferred QualificationsSolid Works experience for CAD and PDMHigh Voltage installation experience
