DescriptionProvidence is calling an Anesthesia Technician (Full time/Evening 11:30AM to 7:30 pm) to Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance Hospital in Torrance. CA.Apply today! Maintains anesthesia machines and equipment. Sets up operating rooms with required anesthesia and physiologic monitoring equipment in preparation for anesthesia in surgical and obstetric suites. Removes and cleans equipment at end of procedures and restocks anesthesia supplies for subsequent this position you will:Coordinate the needs of anesthesia. Assists with technical aspects of getting patients ready for general or regional anesthesia. Assists anesthesia clinicians with intravenous and intra-arterial and other monitoring catheters.Verify functioning and proper layout of equipment and disposable products.Order, stock, and set up anesthesia equipment in all ORs on a daily basis and between each case.Clean and sterilize all anesthesia equipment when necessary.Represent department of anesthesia in interdepartmental matters when Anesthesia Coordinator is terface with other disciplines, such as anesthesia repair contractors, OR and OB staffs, CNAs, and anesthesiologists.Coordinate activities for maintaining anesthesia equipment.Assist in maintaining equipment repair logs and develops an equipment database.Assist in capital equipment preparation in cooperation with the Anesthesia Coordinator and Chief of Anesthesia.Is immediately available on a first priority basis to assist any and all anesthesiologist in emergent situations such as difficult airway patients and compromised patients requiring resuscitation in the operating room.Stay current with new technology such as equipment, procedures and instruments as its introduced into the department.Documentation/Information Management:Responsible for timely, accurate and concise documentation and order entry.Enter requisitions.as requestedUtilize hand held computer for documentation.Demonstrate working knowledge of Hospital Information municate patient information and changes to RN.Maintain confidentiality of all patient and hospital related informationPerformance Improvement/Quality and Safety:Participate in and can articulate department and hospital performance improvement projects.Actively support the facility with regards to continuous compliance with all regulatory and performance improvement standards including, but not limited to JCAHO, Department of Health Services, CMS Core Measures, IHI initiatives, etc.Maintain current knowledge regarding JCAHO standards for this mit to and actively participates in ongoing compliance.Have knowledge of Tracer methodology.Provide the best care and service to every person, every time (PHS Quality Vision).Provide care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and patient/family centered (PHS Quality definition).Required qualifications for this position include:Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.Certification in Anesthesia technology within 12 months of employment.Requires current BCLS certification.OR experience and knowledge of OR equipment.Prior knowledge of anesthesia equipment.Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English to successfully use electronic monitoring equipment.Ability to assist in difficult intubations.Ability to set up and assist in A-line and Central line placements.Requires the ability to perform basic arithmetic computations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).Requires the ability to perform all physical requirements pertaining to delegated tasks.Requires ability to accurately and efficiently complete assigned tasks.Requires ability to organize and prioritize work to complete assignments in a timely manner.Must demonstrate an understanding of basic medical terminology and abbreviations.Ability to establish and maintain a courteous and cooperative (service-oriented) working relationship with patients, families and co-workers.Knowledge of aseptic technique.Preferred qualifications for this position include:Prior work as an anesthesia tech.About the hospital you will serve.Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance is a 436-bed non-profit hospital serving the greater South Bay communities of Los Angeles since 1960.
