System Performance Engineer The PersonGreat opportunity for a new college graduate or early career professional! As a Performance Engineer on our Systems Power and Performance Engineering team, you will help to produce, debug, and validate AMD systems to release and maintain the best possible product. Your systems engineering expertise will help us to achieve our performance goals while resolving customer issues.You will work alongside various departments throughout the organization; your teamwork and communications skills will be vital in the completion of multifaceted tasks.The ability to learn and innovate will be important as you will work not only with the team, but also be required to work independently. This job requires someone driven to learn and improve their knowledge, who has a hunger to advance their career.We at AMD are gamers and performance enthusiasts at heart, so if you like extreme performance and seeing your hard work provide direct benefits to our customers'' AMD experience, you would love our team.Responsibilities Drive performance assessment, analysis, & attainment for AMD desktop and notebook products with continuous test, debug, analysis, & defect resolution throughout the course of a project Engage with cross-functional leadership & teams to integrate your deliverables with other project work streams Implement strategies & test plans for product-specific performance scenarios, feature, and target market spaces as appropriate; identify risks & build mitigation plans Hands-on debug to root cause performance, power, and interop challenges; collaborate with peer teams to analyze behaviors and resolve issues Support cross-functional technical teams with targeted ad hoc analyses through hands-on testing Develop strong partnerships with program stakeholders across the organization and development partners Collaborate with other engineers on common program test & debug activities and process improvements Preferred Experience Direct technical experience on system performance analysis Product development with hardware platforms and their software & firmware ecosystems Experience in the PC architecture space and familiarity with hands-on system setup & testing Excellent verbal communication and written, presentation skills Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, planning, and technical management skills Proven ability to deliver large cross-functional technical deliverables EDUCATION Bachelor''s or Masters degree in Computer Science or Computer or Electrical Engineering preferred with industry experience LOCATION: Austin, Texas Requisition Numbe r: 170283Country: United States State: Texas City: AustinJob Function: Design Benefits offered are described here .AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies or fee based recruitment services.
