RBI Engineer

The primary responsibility of the Engineer II (RBI Engineer) is to provide data management, data analysis, and risk assessments to support the inspection management programs and Risk Based Inspection (RBI) / Mechanical Integrity (MI) projects. The RBI Engineer will develop/update risk assessments and develop optimized inspection and test plans utilizing his knowledge of RBI strategies, damage mechanisms, applicable inspection codes and standards.The RBI Engineer will assure overall accuracy of the fixed equipment data and the risk based inspection activities for the management of the entire asset life cycle. The RBI Engineer will also be responsible for evaluating equipment specific as well as program level data to identify value added opportunities for improvement.Key Responsibilities:Develop RBI Methodology Documents, such as Management System and Technical Instructions;Implement RBI programs in commercially available inspection data management systems (IDMS);Participate in damage mechanism assessments/reviews and identify damage mechanismsLead a team of technicians and specialists to perform data entry, develop corrosion loops, create piping inspection circuits;Determine inspection and test plans for fixed equipment and piping;Be knowledgeable in applicable codes/standards: API 510, API 570, API 571, API 580, API 581, API 653, API 970;Perform as a project management and maintain client relationships as well as support marketing and sales initiatives;Document inspection reports and RBI data in electronic and/or hard copy format for on-stream inspections;Update criticality in RBI and communicate any changes to supervisor, inspector, reliability lead and the asset-manager;Update RBI analysis reports with identified opportunities for improvements;Develop timely reports for the project management team;Review equipment data packages;Provide QA/QC function and quality checks of project RBI deliverables;Conduct NCR review with project management team;Develop methodology for internal audit and conduct internal audit review;Provide RBI software support for the production system;Define and execute strategies to systematically roll-over inspection plans;Develop work processes/flow and conduct training;Provide Support for global implementation;Provide RBI support and training of inspection personnel;Assist with Inspection Information Management;Minimum of four (4) years of technical college education with a BS degree;Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience;Certification and/or familiarity with API 580 and 581Certification and/or familiarity with API 510, API 570 and/or API 653;Experience analyzing inspection data in an RBI program including updating and analyzing equipment criticalities;Experience utilizing RBI software systems;Understanding of process equipment damage mechanisms commonly found in the chemical and petrochemical industry;Ability to effectively utilize both qualitative and quantitative RBI analysis methodologies;Strong spreadsheet and database skills;Structured/organized working style to support the continuous improvement process within the project team and inspection group;Ability to create and maintain reliable customer relationships;Good communication skills;Experience developing and maintaining process piping system and corrosion circuits;API Certifications API 571, API 580, AWS CWI, NBIC or ASNT Level II or Level III in the following NDE methods: MT, PT, RT, VT & UTABS Group is committed to the equal employment opportunity of its employees and prohibits discrimination against any employee or qualified applicant on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, citizenship status or veteran status, or other non-work-related characteristics that may be protected under the law of the Federal Government or specific state employment laws.
