Quality Engineer (Sr.)DescriptionJoin our growing and stable company today! The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for: Customer and Supplier interfacing on quality issues for assigned responsibilities; traveling to sites as needed. Maintain control plans, PFMEA''s, inspection and gage instructions and other assigned quality plan documentation.Lead problem solving activities for internal/external concerns relating to assigned responsibilitiesCoordinates activities of Quality Technicians. Maintain Advanced Quality Planning (APQP) documentation for assigned programs. Establishes data collection systems for process, product and customer feedback. Initiates actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, process and quality systems. Controls processing and delivery of nonconforming products when identified until the deficiency is corrected. Organizes retrieval of supplier PPAP information and follow up activities to customer PPAP submissions.Performs internal and/or external audits on the basis of IATF/16949 requirements.Requirements EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Minimum for (4) year degree or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer Certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three (3) years experience in a manufacturing environment: automotive manufacturing highly preferred. Minimum of one (1) year experience in supplier and customer related quality-engineering role. Minimum of one (1) year experience in APQP , preferably within the automotive industry. Basic AIAG or related quality system knowledge required. Knowledge of IATF/16949; Corrective Action skills required including 8D, 5Y, Fishbone, etc.Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal. Must possess the ability to interface with customers, suppliers and all levels of personnel within the organization.Must be detail oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage several tasks and/or projects simultaneously.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Basic computer work, standing and sitting in office and manufacturing plant environment, may require material lifting and movement. Must be available for approximately 25% domestic travel. Position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship or Relocation.
