Senior Systems Administrator Description:Direct Hire.Responsibilities:Design, configure, maintain, and support servers, storage area network, collaboration systems, enterprise backup, virtual servers, and systems management environmentsCollaborate with management, peers, and vendors to design and implement hardware/software configurations, logical models, operational management models, and business continuity plans for systems under managementEvaluate and recommend new products and stay up to date with emerging technologiesMonitor server performance and proactively assess and make recommendations for improvementTechnical architectureWrite, review, and maintain technical documentation and library of functional specificationsAct as an internal consultant, mentor, and provider of technical guidanceCollaborate with management, peers, and vendors to provide ongoing monitoring, performance tuning, implementation, and fault root cause analysisAssist in creation and maintenance of troubleshooting and operational documentation for all systems under managementAuthor and peer-review knowledgebase articles documenting fault root causes and resolutionsDeliver and receive cross-discipline training to ensure maximum availability of systemsActively pursue opportunities to improve knowledge, tools, and processesSupport established enterprise Shared Services Agreement and adhere to ongoing collaboration effortsSome travel may be required for this position.Respond to off-hours communications device to provide 24x7 supportOther duties as requiredSkills & Experience:At least 4 years of related experienceAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and related hardware, network and authentication services, and mass storage devices and related technologiesExperience using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex problemsAdvanced knowledge of operating systems, backup solutions, systems management, monitoringExpertise in troubleshooting and root cause analysisAdvanced experience working in a VMWare environmentExperience with application server support and deploymentIn depth experience working with all aspects of Window Server and componentsExperience with data backup system managementExperience with IIS administrationExperience administrating AD and ADFS environmentsCisco networking experienceExperience with server OS patch managementExperience with Automation scripting (PowerShell / VB)Experience with Command line (PowerShell CLI / cmdlets)Experience with DNS / DHCPExperience with File & print servicesExperience with database server managementExperience with Linux server administrationExperience with network load balancingExperience working with Cloud solutions in a hybrid environmentExperience working with Mobile devices and supportExperience working with Office 365 and e-mail administrationStrong technical troubleshooting skillsMicrosoft Certifications a plusVMWare Certifications a plusExperience working with VXRail a plusFor 25 years, Millennium Consulting has been a leader in professional staffing.
