Company description: TeDan Surgical Innovations (TSI) designs and manufactures specialty surgical products for use in orthopedic, neuro, thoracic and spine surgeries. Job Summary: The Quality Engineer Intern is responsible for supporting specific quality engineering activities related to product life cycle for TSI products and processes. The internship will require working with a team as well as individual participation in product and processes related to the quality. Duties/Essential Job Functions: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision. This includes creating detailed and accurate project tasks and schedules, interfacing with project team members and other support personnel and solving project-related conflicts and issues. Develop and execute verification and validation plans and protocols associated with product/process quality according to FDA and ISO regulations and TeDan SOPs. Investigate, identify, and develop plans for streamlining quality processes supporting receiving and shipping activities. Awareness of General TSI Quality Management System (QMS), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Complaint Handling through annual TSI Training. Other responsibilities assigned by supervisor. Requirements Include: In pursuit of or has obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering and/or similar discipline Must have successfully completed at least 3 years of undergraduate studies (minimum of 60 credit hours towards Bachelor''s degree) Computer literate in various software applications. (i.e. - Word, Excel, Access, Minitab.) Solidworks experience preferred Strong technical writing skills and ability to create technical protocols and reports as well as manufacturing/inspection procedures Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to provide a letter or email of recommendation upon request The internship is projected to begin in June and extend through end of August Candidates are responsible for their own housing and transportation during the internship Must be eligible to work in the United States Prior experience in quality, regulatory, or design engineering within the medical device industry is preferred Experience in Process Validation/Process Capability TSI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
