Our Opportunity North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Plant Safety Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead, oversee, and administer safety programs and activities that provide for the overall safety of employees in his/her assigned manufacturing facility Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesYour Priorities Ensures the facility meets all requirements of corporate, local, state and federal safety regulations. Administers facility safety events, evaluations, program deployment, and other related activities in order to drive a reduction in work-related injuries. Performs facility safety inspections to identify actual and/or potential hazardous work conditions. Analyzes safety issues, works with department leaders on corrective actions, and following up on the implementation and effectiveness of the corrective actions. Conducts safety training (technical, management, and process) for all levels of facility employees based on specific needs and requirements. Training may include safety strategies and goals, technical safety and program information, injury trend data, safety/regulatory information. Works directly with plant engineering to evaluate new and existing facility equipment and workstations with regard to safety and ergonomic issues and improvements and develops new methods/practices to reduce risk and exposures. RequirementsYour Background Bachelor Degree in Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or a related discipline, and/or 4 to 6 years of experience in the safety function in a manufacturing environment.
