Service Technician II - Rental Division

Messer Construction Co. is an award-winning construction manager and general contractorthat provides leadership for complex commercial building projects. We are currently accepting applications for a Rental Division Service Technician seeking to advance their construction and equipment career. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of tools and equipment utilized in the commercial construction market as well as an understanding and respect for safety requirements associated with the commercial building industry. .Job Summary:The Service Technician II, will perform a variety of daily physical tasks to ensure safe and efficient rental operations. This position will be responsible for performing repair and maintenance on small to medium sized tools and equipment for delivery to Messer project sites and regions. This individual must have strong electrical trouble shooting skills and diagnostic ability. They will develop positive relationships with other Rental Division employees in order to facilitate the atmosphere and positive work environment for a successful team.Responsibilities:• Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhere to all safety procedures• Maintain positive customer relations through professional interactions with customers• Loading and Unloading of trucks while complying with all DOT regulations for height, width, and weight• Maintain workshop orders of work performed in a complete and timely manner on a daily/job basis• Perform routine repairs on equipment with some supervision• Perform in a safe manner, maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair of a variety of rental equipment and tools that involve mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical systems• Communicate with lead technician, counter person and shop foreman for equipment maintenance requirements and repair costs• Pressure washing and cleaning of returned tools and equipment• Provide assistance to all other levels of technicians as needed in regard to troubleshooting repairs• Occasional Delivery / Pick-up of equipment, tools, and supplies as needed• Keep warehouse and laydown area organized and safe• Attend formal trainings• Check out, familiarize and demonstrate equipment for customers• Perform major repairs with direct supervision of senior service technician• Identify and communicate the need for parts for inventory• Recognize and communicate the need for shop tools• And all other duties and responsibilities determined by the management of the rental divisionQualities:• Be a self-starter with a high level of energy• Be able to perform tasks with minimal supervision & in a timely manner• Respect and consideration to support a projects uptime requirements• Maintain a high level of productivity• Troubleshooting and diagnostic ability in Hydraulic, Electrical, and Mechanical systems• Be a team player and assist others for the good of the department & the company• Be willing to travel to where the work is in support of all regional businesses• Accept personal responsibility for the quality of our product & the service we provide to our customersQualifications:Successful completion of Pre-Employment and Drug TestStrong Work Ethic, Reliability, and Positive AttitudeDesire to Learn and move up careerHigh School Diploma or G.E.D.18 years of age or olderA valid driver''s licenseDiligent attention to SafetyWorking indoors and outdoors in all weather conditionsAbilities:Possess all auditory, speaking and communicating capabilitiesPhysical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 25lbs, seeing and readingReports to:Rental Division ManagerAll Messer employees are required to comply with our Substance Abuse Prevention Policy as a condition of employment.
