We continue to pursue growth opportunities, evidenced by opening more branch offices throughout the Southeast region.Job DescriptionAs an EE, you have broad responsibility to develop engineering deliverables and coordinate with a project team. You are led by the Lead Engineer, complete design documents in concert with Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation, and Controls engineers and various project support functions (Document Control, Sourcing, Finance, etc.). The EE works in a highly technical role; generating, checking, or approving Process & Instrument Diagrams, single line diagrams, I/O lists, loop (termination) diagrams, control logic diagrams, power distribution designs, control system architecture (PLC/DCS) and general design specifications. You have experience in control panel design, including, but not limited to, panel layout, termination drawings, and compiling a bill of materials. You support vendor selection and equipment procurement, manage vendor documents, and ensure our suppliers are on track and performing. You build and maintain knowledge of local and national electrical codes and requirements. You also maintain the project schedule and document reporting for the Lead Engineer. Finally, you are a technical customer contact, participating in project status updates, design reviews, installation support, and commissioning supervision. The EE requires a strong engineering foundation and is skilled at working across teams.Useful Skills and AbilitiesExperience in industrial processes and system engineering - the following are preferred but not required:Experience in water treatment, oil & gas, chemical or power fieldsExperience with hazardous location classification/technologiesExperience with Motor Control Center (MCC) designExperience with low and medium voltage power distribution system designGood planning, organization, and time managementStrict attention to detailClear, concise communication skillsTeam player with the ability to exercise good judgment under changing conditionsResponsibilitiesShe is considered a specialist in a specific electrical hardware design area (AC/DC Power Distribution, Input/output Systems, etc.) or a generalist in multiple regions.Contribute to hardware engineering requirements capture, analysis, and derivation.Design and Document hardware systems of moderate to high complexity.Work closely with other engineering disciplines (i.e., mechanical, software, and systems engineering) to ensure the electrical design is appropriate for the project/product design approach.Required QualificationsBS degree in Electrical Engineering or an appropriate discipline in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)A minimum of 5 years of related experience.Experience in the use of AutoCAD 2D Computer-aided Design ToolDesired QualificationsProfessional Engineer''s License, or the ability to obtain one within one yearProficient in the Microsoft Office tool suiteExperience in Microsoft Visual BasicExperience in System Design, Integration, and Test of Systems of Moderate complexityThe ability to travel domestically and internationally 10-25% of the timeProficient in project management conceptsFamiliarity with software: AutoCAD and RevitAbility to learn and become capable in Visual, GenSize, and SKM Power Tools within four months of hireKnowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable Building Codes.North Wind offers a competitive pay and benefits package to include health, life, and disability insurance benefits, 401(k) with company match, generous paid leave, and tuition reimbursement for eligible employees.
