Beyond the platform, Roo represents a growing opportunity to help hospitals meet all-things staffing, and a growing community of resilient vet industry professionals who value flexibility and work-life balance, in addition to providing the best possible outcomes for clients and their pets.Our aim is to combine experienced healthcare expertise with Silicon Valley talent to shake up this industry and change the way veterinarians and hospitals work!About the RoleAs Roo continues to grow, we are looking to add a fantastic & ambitious Business Development Director to help manage and scale our California territory, which consists of existing Los Angeles and San Diego markets, alongside our growing San Francisco and Sacramento markets as well. You will lead an existing team made up of 6 incredible Business Development Managers and Account Managers, and grow the team as needed.Note that this role would be operating on a fully remote basis, but should be located in or near our CA markets.Your ResponsibilitiesManage and scale all California markets.Lead and continue growing our team of Business Development Managers and Account Managers to support growth.Acquire veterinarian (DVM) and hospital users onto the Roo platform through various BD acquisition activities - from virtual one-on-one meetings to local events in coordination with BD, Growth and Marketing, Operations, and other teamsOnboard & convert inbound vets/corporate hospitals to complete first shiftEnsure successful first 3 shifts for vets/hospitals (vets or techs)Strategically target selected vets/hospitals that will help platform growHelp to fulfill needed relief shifts through vet network knowledge and in coordination with AM teamAcquire a set number of high-frequency vet users (Core Roo Vets) who will secure 15+ shifts / month through RooWork closely with team members to hit acquisition targetsAct as an expert on Roo''s platform and product to help answer any user inquiries as part of recruitmentProvide any assistance for hospital and vet professional user throughout end-to-end Roo experience process - e.g. onboarding, new user/pre-first shift contact, etc.Ensure hospital & vet users remain actively engaged & happy with Roo platformProactively address any escalated rainy-day scenarios and resolve any user issue or inquiry in a timely mannerPlus any add''l Roo work/activities that need to be completed.About You5+ years strategic Sales or Business Development experience, ideally in a high growth environmentExperience working in the veterinary/animal healthcare space.Strong knowledge of DVMs and hospitals (ideally across cities)Strong business relationship building skills.Ability to utilize our CRM tool to track user acquisition progress.Experience managing a teamProactive - staying ahead of the curve in day-to-day work.Strong communication anized, yet able to juggle multiple tasks.Previous client success experience a plus.Ability to work with different teams as well as remote team members.Ability to understand business needs and identify ways to grow.Flexibility and agility - this is an early stage startup environment.Positive, can-do attitude!We believe in diversity of experience and background, and understand that your individual experience may not check every box.
