Zurich is currently searching for an Application Project Leader to work out of our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, IL. As a key member of the Claims Business Change and IT team within our IT Strategy & Application Development unit, the Application Project Leader will be responsible for managing Zurich''s business programs from conceptualization to implementation, with a focus on projects of small to moderate size and complexity, and will be tasked at leading the project team, defining the business problems, and formulating the project/systems scope and objectives. This includes utilizing a detailed understanding of insurance, processes, and business systems to drive the research and analysis of the defined problem, designing the recommended solution, and implementing the solution.The Application Project Leader will also be part of a team in identifying and considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environmentKey focus areas will include:Ability to work to capture requirements in a formal mannerTracking and overseeing activities across workstreams and across projectsAbility to be resilient in the face of a complex system, complex problems, and demanding deadlinesTracking staffing needs along with financial streamsAbility to work well with others in a highly interdependent high-performance team Specific consulting responsibilities will also include facilitating transformation via strategic/industry perspectives acting as a thought partner with key business leaders, defining and structuring opportunities/projects to deliver the strategy, and leading projects utilizing the Agile/Scrum methodologies. Business systems integration responsibilities will include leading the project team to deliver the business requirements and functional design of the system solution and serving as trusted business advisor between the Business and IT. Basic Qualifications:Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Communications or Project Management area ORHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Communications or Project Management areaANDExperience in strategic and operational consulting or business systems integrationPreferred Qualifications:Commercial (Claims) insurance experienceScrum and/or Scrum Master experienceAgile experienceProgram Management (multiple projects/workstreams)JIRA experienceProcess and flow mapping tools (i.e., Visio or Mural)Financial management and Stakeholder management experienceSQL and SQL Query Tools (AQT, Squirrel) experienceStrong communication and presentation skillsIn-depth, strong problem-solving analytical skillsCultural awarenessAs a condition of employment at Zurich, employees must adhere to our COVID-related health and safety protocols (including, without limitation, a requirement that employees attest as to their vaccination status with a YES/NO, and upload proof of vaccination status, or a negative COVID test result when applicable, to a third-party vendor.
