Position OverviewThe Sr./Principal Electrical Engineer will be an individual contributor within the EnChannel Medical Electrical Engineering Team working on developing next-generation technologies and products for treating atrial fibrillation. The individual will be involved in all phases of product development, including definition, design, troubleshooting, characterization, verification, and manufacturing of 3D cardiac navigation and mapping system. The individual will be an integral part of the R&D organization delivering the highest quality, lifesaving technology to our patients.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide electrical engineering skills to design, develop, analyze, and debug new product designs, including analog and digital circuitry • Integrate electronics, firmware, and mechanical designs into a complex medical device system • Provide expertise in high precision low noise analog and digital electronics circuits with high channel count integration. • Designs various device-to-device interfaces as required (e.g., I2C, SPI, LVDS, Fiber Optics) • Provide support for developing testing environments for characterization, verification & validation, and manufacturing. • Tests and troubleshoots ESD and EMI/EMC systems • Asses current manufacturing methods and provide feedback and strategy for improvement. • Collaborates with mechanical engineers and industrial design consultants to design usability, manufacturability, and serviceability into future commercial designs. • Initiates and maintains the debug process and procedures for manufacturing and field service personnel. • Maintains and updates requirements and design documentation (schematic, layout, assembly files) throughout the entire system life cycle. • Tests and troubleshoots ESD and EMI/EMC systems Conducts radiated emissions and immunity testing and troubleshooting. • Participates in onsite manufacturing or onsite repair of electronic medical equipment used for diagnostic or treatment purposes.QualificationsBachelors degree required • (For Sr. EE): Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experienceBachelors degree required • (For Sr. EE): Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience • For (Principal EE): Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience • Strong background in PCB design methodology, including CAD tools (Altium Designer preferred). • Strong knowledge of state-of-the-art PCB fabrication technology (SMT, BGA, blind and buried micro via, flex circuits, etc.) and assembly. • Circuit simulation in tools such as PSPICE or LTSPICE • Experience with low-level analog circuits • Extensive knowledge and experience in maintaining signal and power integrity in terms of circuit design, board layout, cable management, and electronic packaging • Experience with Embedded Design with MCU, DSP, and FPGA. • Experience with design, verification, and validation of Class III medical devices or similar regulated product • C/C++, LabVIEW, and/or Python scripting. • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, simulate and resolve issues in embedded system designs • Demonstrated experience in the following areas: IEC 60601 Electrical Safety and Compatibility, RoHS compliance, REACH compliance, medical device design controls (e.g., ISO 13485), and risk analysis (e.g., ISO 14971)
