Job DescriptionSUMMARY The FP&A Technical Analyst provides analytics and decision support at a corporate level supporting the executive staff as well as the broader finance community. The Technical Analyst will be on a team responsible for a shared reporting & analytics infrastructure as well as directly providing reporting, analysis, and insight to the executive teams based on that infrastructure. The successful candidate will be able to leverage a variety of tools & analytical capabilities to support analysis across different functional areas of the business and their impacts to overall company financial performance. The candidate will need to gather/develop the required datasets, apply a variety of techniques to analyze/test business hypotheses, and then summarize back the findings (with clear data/method driven substantiation). This position is in the Corporate Analytics team and has the potential to significantly influence the direction of the company and the financial performance.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Partner with the broader finance/business community to stay abreast of current business concerns, potential opportunities, and information needsAccess and Integrate information/data from a variety of sources for analytics and reportingDesign methodologies to understand and forecast key aspects of financial/operational performanceEmploy a variety of analytical techniques to discover, identify, and conclude ad-hoc analysis both reactively to leadership requests and proactively as opportunities are identifiedDevelop and automate the delivery of analytical methods and standardized reporting to be used in Executive level presentations or distributed to end usersContribute to the broader financial/Enterprise tools roadmap in partnership with Finance/IT leadershipDefine and document core business metrics, definitions, and logic collaborating with the business teamsDeliver analysis and findings to leadership and business teams...often through formal presentationMaintain knowledge and stays current of developments in the fields of technology, business intelligence, data warehousing, data science, and emerging technologies (machine learning, AI, etc.)QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to apply analytical methodologies (Statistical Modeling, Financial Analysis, Market/Competitive Research)Familiarity with reporting / analytical apps such as (Oracle BI, Power BI, Tableau, SAS,)Ability to define problems, collect data, perform analysis, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsExposure to machine learning and AI type concepts is a plusAbility to present information and respond to questions from groups of senior management, department heads, and the Finance/IT/Business teamsAttention to quality, reconciliation, and accuracy are critical as the audience is often executive level staff and the decisions being made are significant in scope/impactCreativity and vision to recommend ways to evolve our infrastructure, process, and analytic capabilitiesEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor''s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics or related required (Masters in Analytics, Business, or Mathematics a plus); and1-3 years of systems / business analysis experience; orEquivalent combination of education and experience.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Mentoring and collaborating with other Analysts within the broader organizationCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSNone RequiredPHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
