Position Overview:You will create drawings and CNC programs using the provided CAD/CAM software. As a programmer you will be responsible for determining the manufacturing process of a new product from the fixture/work holding stage to a finished product. You will also be supporting current production and prototypes while maintaining quality and safety standards.Primary Duties:Generate CNC programs using SurfCAM SoftwareUse of CAD to create part models and geometry as neededPlan and execute manufacturing processes individually or as a teamConfer with CNC operators to resolve any program errorsDetermine optimal tooling and cutting parameters based on material and set-upControl the handling of CNC programs from the server to CNC machinesMaintain revision and quality control on programs, tool sheets, and setup documentation utilizing SolidWorks PDMAssist in tooling design, special machinery and/or equipment required for productionAdjust and/ or create machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining qualityWork individually or as a team on continuous improvement effortsRequirements:Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is requiredHigh school diploma or certificate equivalencyExperience programming and running N/C Lathes, Vertical Machining Centers, and/or Horizontal Machining Centers3-5 years experience with CAM program requiredMust have strong attention to detailExcellent verbal, written, and platform communication skillsStrong mechanical and manufacturing aptitudeProficient in accurate use of micrometers, calipers and other measuring toolsInteraction:Daily contact with department personnel.
