About the Role:We are seeking a candidate who will work in a cooperative team environment with cross functional teams to develop and verify embedded Modem and RF Communication Systems Digital Signal processing solutions in FPGA firmware with a specific focus on the design and implementation of NSA Type 1 cryptographic equipment. Candidate will be required to analyze requirements, architect, and design FPGA based signal processing solutions for Modems, RF Transmission Systems, and Satellite Communication Systems.Primary Responsibilities:• Ability to analyze system functions and develop processing architecture(s) based on digital technology• Experience designing and implementing cryptographic algorithms in NSA Type 1 cryptographic and/or DSP circuits in programmable logic using FPGA devices. Equivalent experience in ASIC design is also applicable• Broad experience in signal processing for RF communications systems.• Utilize signal processing algorithms in FPGAs and Software• Perform detailed analysis including requirements analysis, use case scenarios, conceptual design, trade studies, test, operation, and maintenance of Modems and RF communication products• Work with cross functional teams as needed to define and refine design requirements.• Assist in development of high-level and detailed verification test plans consistent with system requirements and specifications• Prepare design and implementation reviews. Present technical briefings and status to internal and external customersExpertise and Experience Required:• Bachelor''s degree with 9 years of experience -OR- Master''s degree with 7 year''s of experienceCritical Success Factors:• Experience implementing signal processing algorithms in FPGAs• Experience with adaptive signal processing algorithms and trades• Experience in communication system signal processing theory and waveform design• Experience with MatLab, Simulink or similar DSP modelling tools• Proficient in FPGA development using VHDL or Verilog• Ability to work efficiently with remotely located teams and co-workers• Motivated, self-starter, who works well in team environments.• Solid technical writing skills and ability to communicate technical concepts/solutions both inside and outside of the organization• NSA Type 1 certification process experience• Working knowledge and experience in testing and debugging of Cryptographic Unit Designs• Experience with FPGA Vendor Specific FPGA Implementation tools (Vivado/Quartus)• Demonstrated ability to analyze and debug FPGA firmware and related hardware issues• Experience implementing signal processing algorithms in FPGAs• Experience with adaptive signal processing algorithms and trades• Experience in communication system signal processing theory and waveform design• Experience with MatLab, Simulink or similar DSP modelling tools• Proficient in FPGA development using VHDL• Ability to work efficiently with remotely located teams and co-workers• Motivated, self-starter, who works well in team environments.• Solid technical writing skills and ability to communicate technical concepts/solutions both inside and outside of the organization.• Ability to obtain a security clearance
