Cafeteria Aide - Independence Academy

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Ensures that all students are provided with a meal.Help supervising students during their lunch time.Helps students with opening packages, juice boxes, etc.Cleans after every lunch break during lunch time.Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of cafeteria and assists with end of day cleaning and close down.Maintains efficient and smooth flow of service and works closely with coworkers to assure that students, staff and faculty have a pleasurable dining experience, and that all students are provided with a meal.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Medium work: ability to lift, push and/or pull objects, which may approximate 50 lbs.Ability to stand for up to six (6) continuous hours.Ability to stand, stoop, reach and bend; mobility of arms to reach, dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate large and small objects.Work with caustic and non-caustic chemicals.Ability to work with frequent interruption and to supervise a variety of tasks.WORK ENVIRONMENT:The employee may be required to work around loud noise.Ability to work in an inside environment.Ability to work in a hot environment.Qualifications:High School Diploma, completion of GED or equivalent coursesFood Service Experience preferred
