MTI Baths, Inc. has been in operation since 1988, manufacturing luxury bath products including tubs, sinks, and shower bases. We are an industry leader known for our quality, customization, lead times and customer service. We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team.The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for identifying and eliminating waste throughout various manufacturing plants as well as the development and refinement of systems and standards in a high mix, made to order manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who enjoys supporting daily production operations and working closely with manufacturing teams to improve productivity through the use of lean manufacturing techniques. The overall focus is on driving real, bottom-line results around Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. We are looking for candidates with hands-on experience, who have successfully implemented continuous improvement initiatives. Must be able to reliably commute to work; no relocation assistance will be provided.Primary job responsibilitiesActively engage with all levels of the manufacturing teams to search out and identify problems, and implement sustaining solutions in a metric driven, continuous improvement environment.Develop, lead, and support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.Support and drive quality improvements throughout the sitesIdentify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities and develop scalable solutions with measurable results.Work with operations leadership to provide general lean training for the manufacturing team as needed.Plan and conduct value stream analysis to ascertain the best process flow of operations and workflow.Coordinate changes to current manufacturing processes to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.Manage schedules, budgets and commissioning of new equipment initiatives.Work closely with design to improve products for ease of manufacturing and assembly efficiency.Write and update work instructions and other process documentation.Analyzes and designs manufacturing plant layout of equipment and workspace to improve material and information flow.Design and implement visual management systems to improve operational transparency and communication.Weekly reporting on manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for production team to help maintain product flow and support timely delivery to customers as needed.Solve technical issues by identifying root cause(s) and identifying both short-term and long-term corrective actions.Collaborate closely with relevant multi-functional departments to determine priorities and ensure efficient performance of production areas and timely product delivery.Working with the production team, supervisors, and finance group to create and maintain labor routings, process control plans and testing plans for current and new processes.RequirementsBS degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or a related fieldStrong lean manufacturing base or experience. Including 6S.2+ years of relevant professional work experienceMust have analytical and time management skillsProficient in MS OfficeStrong written and verbal communications are required as this position will interact with employees at all levels in the companyMust be a hands-on Engineer capable of working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
