Build and strengthen your career in software development by helping us create the next generation of flight simulators to train military pilotsWe are currently seeking Lead Software Engineers to become part of the F-15 Training Systems team in Saint Louis, Missouri. These simulations support the deployment and training of next generation avionics and sensor systems for F-15 fighter aircraft. The successful candidate will implement and test new cutting-edge capabilities and integrate them with a variety of other aircraft subsystems.Position Responsibilities:Serve as lead engineer on projects as assigned and manage related project activity with minimal or no guidanceClearly communicate technical information to other engineers and to managementWork together with Systems Engineering, Test, and Integration teams to translate high level system and software requirements into low level software requirements that can be implemented by other engineersDesign, develop, and integrate software into real-time embedded systemDefine and execute test procedures to validate software requirements achievedMentor new employees in software engineering best practices and in Training Systems processesTroubleshoot and resolve software issuesSupport software research and development projectsImplement F-15 vehicle simulation trainer software in an Agile development environmentDevelop both object-oriented software designs and non-object-oriented designs as appropriate for the featureCreate software designs and documentation of those designsUnderstand and work within the boundaries of budget and schedule demandsParticipate in software design and implementation peer reviews and provide constructive feedback to drive high quality deliverable softwareContribute to team shared processes and "how to" documentationSecurity Clearance:This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):5+ years of experience programming with software development and analysis tools (Examples include: Python, C, Groovy, Java, MATLAB, etc.)Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Bachelor of science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or chemistry or other technical degreeResearch and development experience in Network Systems programmingExperience with requirements, design, development, and test of software systems productsExperience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologiesExperience with Linux and windows developmentExperience with GitExperience with Aircraft Avionics/Simulation Systems Engineering and/or Software EngineeringFamiliarity with simulation standards such as Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) and High Level Architecture (HLA)Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years'' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years'' related work experience, Master+7 years'' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.RELOCATION: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
