Empowering employees and teams with accessible, sustainable human resources solutions, including ongoing professional development Delivering the highest quality talent solutions for school/department leaders Ensuring all students have access to high-quality instruction and holistic care, including physical and mental health services Modeling high expectations and continuous improvement for our colleagues across the district Working in partnership and consultation with ODLSS, OSHW and the Talent Office, the Mental Health Professionals (MHP) Grants Manager will provide a vital link between these three distinct offices to align supports for nurses and related service providers. The Grants Manager will report to the Director of School Nursing in the Office of Student Health & Wellness.The Grants Manager will be held accountable for the following responsibilities: Lead the implementation of grant activities, identify and pursue new partners and supporters, and interface across disciplines and departments to achieve grant objectives Manage partnerships with multiple universities for a variety of continuing education programs, including School Nurse Certificate programs in order to create a robust HSN to CSN pipeline - Coordinate the internal application process for the School Nurse Certificate programs, and support enrolled nurses through study groups Create, implement, and proactively manage a comprehensive mental health professional development calendar for CPS Nurses, including Youth Mental Health First Aid and Professional Learning Communities on trauma responsive educational practices Synthesize information on progress, setbacks, and significant milestones within the grant management plan Regularly inform senior leaders across the district about developments within the grant program areas Collaborate with Chiefs, school leaders and central office staff to develop and oversee evaluation strategies for programming and grants necessary to advance the MHP grant vision, policy and strategic goals Produce high-quality summaries, presentations, and reports for a variety of audiences Complete all grant reports for the U.S. Department of Education, and manage communication with the Technical Assistant Specialist and the grant''s Program Officer along with other federal agencies Other related duties as assigned In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Grants Manager must possess the following qualifications: Education Required: Bachelor''s degree from an accredited college or university Master''s degree preferredExperience Required: Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience involving the management/administration of grants, including the following, is required: Two (2) years of grant implementation experience Two (2) years of supervisory experience, managing a team of direct reports (ex: grant staff or similar positions) Nursing, Social Work, or Mental Health training experience, and/or experience working in an educational setting, is preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Superior organizational/project management skills and attention to detail Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, combined with strong initiative and a team player attitude Ability to communicate and build trusting relationships with a broad cross-section of stakeholders Exceptional communication skills (speaking - including presentations - listening, and writing); capable of communicating with multiple levels of management and addressing challenges in a constructive manner Ability to define problems, analyze data, and outline valid conclusions and action steps Self-starter with the ability to conduct multiple projects concurrently, both independently and as a member of a collaborative team Effective strategic planning capabilities, including the ability to establish long-term vision and goals, and align/manage activities toward goal fulfillment Strong leadership and team building skills, e.g. ability to develop high performing teams united around a clear vision for serving schools and achieving student success Knowledge of operations, budget/finance, management and organizational developmentConditions of EmploymentAs a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to: Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency - Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district. Be Fully Vaccinated or Submit to Weekly COVID-19 Testing -Employees are required to be fully vaccinated within 30 days of their hire date. Full vaccination is defined as at least two weeks after your second shot of a two-shot vaccination course, or at least two weeks after a one-shot vaccination course. Unvaccinated staff must submit to weekly testing. CPS Non-Union Job Grade: S08Estimated Annual Salary Range: $74,000 - $95,000Final salary offers are dependent upon candidate qualifications.
