Position: Hypersonic CFD Modeling & Simulation Engineer (Aerospace or Mechanical (Fluids) Engineer) Location : Huntsville, AL Position Description : Gray Analytics is a technical consulting and solutions provider for our customers. We are seeking to hireengineers to provide support to our growing hypersonics business area. With current activitiesproviding support to defense, space, cyber and commercial fields; Gray Analytics'' mission is to provideexceptional services/products to meet our customers'' needs. Selected candidates will support testing and engineering analysis of hypersonic programs. Currentefforts will focus on developing hypersonic computational fluid dynamic Modeling & Simulations (M&S)capabilities. The candidate will support the customer both locally in Huntsville Alabama, as well as provide support atmultiple test venue locations across the United States. Most of the work will be performed in an officeenvironment but will also include time at integration laboratories and hypersonic test facilities. Basic Qualifications: • A Bachelor''s degree, or higher, in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field from an ABET-accredited school, is required. Salary considerations will be based on technical qualifications and experiences. • The ideal candidate would have experience related to the development and application of computational methods for hypersonics modeling and simulation. • The candidate must have experience in compiled languages such as Fortran and/or C/C++ and knowledge of code compilation and development on Linux operating systems , • The candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or be willing to relocate to the North Alabama area. • The candidate must be a US Citizen with a current US DoD Secret Clearance or possess/meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Desired Qualifications: • Experience developing code in an M&S environment for high-speed missile-like applications. • High-fidelity M&S experience with aerodynamics, aerothermal, and aero-optics using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for hypersonic flight environments such as high-speed boundary layer, heat transfer, non-equilibrium chemistry, ablation, turbulence, etc. • Demonstrated experience with high-fidelity CFD flow solvers (e.g., CRAFT CFD, US3D, FUN3D, etc.) • Development of infra-red (IR) threat signatures with environmental effects • Organizational skills to oversee the development of wind tunnel test and analysis plans, modeling and simulations (e.g., Cart3D), data reduction and analysis, and uncertainty analysis. • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication • Able to contribute technical expertise throughout the system lifecycle including design, integration, test, and delivery to operations • Experience with online collaboration tools (e.g., TEAMS, Sharepoint, Zoom) *Please note all applications remain active for up to 6 months.
