He/she assists in the implementation of OpEx strategy on the manufacturing floor. The OpEx Coordinator partners with Operations, Maintenance, Material Control, EHS, Quality Assurance, Finance, Engineering, and other cross functional resources to identify and implement continuous improvement projects related to safety, quality, cost reduction, and waste elimination. The OpEx Coordinator influences, motivates, and trains others to use techniques and tools such as Standard Work, Manufacturing Operating System (MOS), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5S+, and Visual Management Control. He/she will learn, utilize, facilitate, and lead project initiatives using OpEx/Lean Six Sigma tools and processes. The OpEx Coordinator will understand, utilize, and communicate key performance indicators and metrics to drive behavior and improvements. He/she partners with site OpEx workstream leaders to implement critical step improvements to build a sustainable Continuous Improvement program and OpEx roadmap. He/she serves as a resource and subject matter expert (SME) regarding OpEx elements and Continuous Improvement initiatives as it relates to projects, process changes, and other improvements. The OpEx Coordinator drives best practice sharing and implementation within the site and other Abbott locations. He/she communicates OpEx initiatives and results to Site leadership. A significant portion of the OpEx Coordinator position is partnering with leaders/peers to develop business relationships that promote the efficient and effective utilization of resources to accomplish OpEx objectives. Other departmental support duties may also be assigned. Education:Required: High School Diploma or equivalentThis is required to provide the technical and administrative responsibilities needed to coordinate and execute process improvements in a manufacturing environment.Background:A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing facilityKnowledge of manufacturing principles and techniquesAwareness of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals (preferred)Moderate computer skills for the development and maintenance of OpEx manufacturing resourcesAbility to solve problems by identifying the cause and offer solutionsPrevious experience in using Lean/Six Sigma tools/processes or utilizing the DMAIC method to solve problems (preferred)A self-starter with ability to take initiative, learn quickly, and think independentlyExcellent oral and written communication skillsOccasional off-shift or weekend hours
