Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) team located in St. Louis, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.You will be a part of the software team that develops a broad spectrum of military simulations. The simulations include engineering, engagement, mission, and campaign level analytic war gaming and experimentation. The engineer will also work with a diverse team of skilled and motivated coworkers to collaborate on simulation software solution. The engineer is also self-motivated and has the ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment, adapt to changing priorities.This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.Position Responsibilities:Develop new domain specific simulation features to aid AnalystsMaintain and support internal, Boeing-specific needs of Government provided Analysis framework (AFSIM)Work in a fast paced and dynamic environmentCoordinate with customers and partners to better understand requirements and use casesWork with experimentation teams preparing for customer events to verify functionalityWork under minimal directionWe work in a casual but professional environment with multi-disciplined teams of engineers that take pride in developing, integrating, testing and delivering innovative solutions. Ability to obtain Top Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):5+ years of experience with C++ programming languageSoftware modeling or simulation experiencePreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with distributed simulation, specifically DIS basedExperience with event based simulationBasic understanding of QtStrong debugging and problem solving skillsExperience with AFSIM, but not requiredExperience with IWARS, but not requiredExperience working in a Scrum Agile environmentExperience with cross-platform development targeting Linux (RHEL specifically) and WindowsEngineer should have strong computing skills, excellent communication skills, be customer focused, positive, flexible, and a strong team playerTypical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years'' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years'' related work experience, Master+7 years'' related work experience)In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standardRelocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
