A comprehensive set of GPNTS software components communicating over an open standard pub/sub middleware enable scaling up or down based on available sensor inputs and consumer interface requirements aboard maritime platforms. GPNTS MOSA design allows for quickly integrating new PNT sensors and providing new capabilities. As part of the Software Engineering GPNTS team, you will be an integral part of helping Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) further our vision to be the global leader in core and next-generation defense and security solutions. This position is responsible for applying basic software engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques associated with the C and C++ computer languages for software development. Under general supervision, develop solutions to a variety of challenging technical problems in software development, following established procedures. Collaborate and contribute to the successful completion of software related milestones on projects that include C/C++ software development, design, code, unit test and formal testing. Interact with senior software engineers and support staff on a situational basis. Develop and build knowledge of emerging software technologies. Responsibilities to Anticipate: Apply expertise in software development for application or embedded multi-processor systems.Provide innovative and creative software solutions to complex technical problems.Follow and/or recommend changes to established processes and procedures.Review software products for soundness of technical judgment and adequacy.Produce documentation related to the design and release of software artifacts.Utilize agile software development methods, automation, and continuous integration.Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related field. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience. 5+ y ears of experience in software engineering OR In absence of a degree, a minimum of 9 years of experience is required. Experience using C/C++ language.Experience with software test development, and/or integration.Experience using Linux.Experience using scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python).The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date.
