Job Description The Program Management Manager is responsible for management and coordination of all nonclinical studies within a specified program within Preclinical Sciences completing work in a resourceful and self-sufficient manner. Working in concert with Program Leads and other cross-functional groups within Vertex, will perform program management activities, in support of Vertex research and development goals. The incumbent contributes to the budgeting and forecasting of the overall nonclinical program plan. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Develops functional project plans and timelines to execute overall program goals and other program-related activities Lead cross-functional meetings, guiding the discussion, with the assistance of supervisor to drive the team toward decisions Regularly interacts with functional areas beyond Preclinical Sciences (e.g. Finance, PM, CMC, Regulatory, etc.) Assists toxicologists with CRO management activities including protocol review, communication with study director, and CRO Performs quality control of standard documents, including regulatory submission documents Forecasting and maintaining program budget Implement planning approaches, improve outcomes, troubleshoot and maintain timelines, to achieve results Ensure that internal and external key stakeholders are kept informed Proactively identify roadblocks and/or constraints impacting project execution Estimate and manage timing for all nonclinical development activities, ensuring alignment to other functional area milestones Contribute to forecast of nonclinical studies and associate budget and assists in long range planning Knowledge and Skills: Experience in a nonclinical setting Comprehensive knowledge of GLP regulations Pharmaceutical drug discovery and development in-depth knowledge across one or more disciplines Excellent written and oral communication skills Organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities Strong collaboration skills to effectively interact with teams and stakeholders Education and Experience: Bachelor''s Degree 6 years of experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience LI-BS1 Company Information Vertex is a global biotechnology company that invests in scientific innovation.
