SUMMARY: The Behavior Health Technician (BHT) provides one-to-one mental health interventions to children and adolescents between the ages of twenty-four months and twenty-one years'' old who are confronted with serious, identified, emotional, and/or behavioral disturbances. The goal of the BHT role is to improve independent age-appropriate functioning to levels which require less or no service intervention. The BHT role will attempt to transfer skills to the child/adolescent and parents. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides face-to-face behavioral interventions Implements individualized treatment plans Provides support to parents, teachers, and community individuals Delivers and models treatment interventions Provides positive reinforcement to the clients and families Implements consequences for inappropriate actions as agreed upon Communicates with peers and co-workers and exchanges information which is important in achieving the individual goals for the clients Prevent dependency on BHT services from the child and/or family by strictly adhering to the individualized treatment plan Setting and adhering to professional boundaries with all clients and families Provides culturally aware and competent service provision Completes initial training curriculum as per company requirements and guidelines and state regulatory standards If the individual has not previously provided BHT services, the individual shall complete at least 30 hours of department-approved training prior to providing services independently If an individual has not previously provided BHT services, the individual shall complete at least 24 hours of Department-approved training within the first 6 months of providing BHT services An individual who provides BHT services shall complete at least 20 hours of department-approved training annually that is related to the individual''s specific job functions and is in accordance with the individual training plan TRAVEL: This position requires travel up to 50% of the time OTHER DUTIES: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Individuals who provide individual services through BHT services shall meet one of the following: Have at least a high school diploma and have completed a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List as evidenced by a certification that includes the name of the responsible trainer, who is certified as a BCBA or BCaBA. CBH can assist candidates with needed trainings to qualify for a BHT position Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the provision of behavioral health services Have a certification as a BCaBA Have a certification as an RBT Have a certification as a BCAT Have a behavior health certification or behavior analysis certification from an organization that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute Must have PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Clearances QUALIFICATIONS: Language, mathematical, and reasoning ability skills Ability to analyze complex issues and make good decisions Ability to follow schedules and meet established deadlines Ability to maintain confidentiality in all client related matters at all times Ability to organize and plan in a methodical systematic approach Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, families, and other employees PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 2 years related experience and/or training Children''s Behavioral Health is committed to creating the best possible work environment for our team members and offers the following total rewards package: Competitive salary/wage Unlimited overtime opportunities Employee referral bonus Paid time off Holidays Medical, dental, vision including a health savings account for eligible employees.
