THE OPPORTUNITYDetention Aides have the opportunity to serve their communities in a unique way; following the Sheriff''s Mission and Vision providing Total Care to those placed in our custody. Detention Aides work alongside Correctional Staff in both jail facilities to provide essential services to inmates and keep their property safe and accounted for while in our custody. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to:Oversees trustees working in the laundry; instructs in the proper operation of laundry equipment and in laundry procedures.Receives, sorts, bags, marks, stores and secures personal property from inmates; retrieves and returns personal property to inmates.Tabulates commissary orders from inmates and records charges to inmate''s account; prepares and delivers commissary orders to inmates.Maintains accurate records and appropriate inventory of commissary items; orders, prices and stocks commissary items.For a full description of duties and responsibilities, please review the job description here (.Sheriffs Personnel Unit will assess your application to determine if you are minimally qualified using the following recommendations.
