Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking an F-22 Air Vehicle Systems Engineer to join the Engineering Test & Evaluation team located in Edwards Air Force Base, California, which is located approximately 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles, CA. Edwards AFB is the home of the 412th Test Wing and the 2nd largest Air Force base. The wing oversees base day-to-day operations and provides support for over 10,000 military, federal civilian and contract personnel assigned to a 481-square mile installation. The 412th Test Wing plans, conducts, analyzes, and reports on all flight and ground testing of aircraft, weapons systems, software and components as well as modeling and simulation for the U.S. Air Force. There are three core components for this mission: flying operations, maintenance and engineering.The Boeing Company supports multiple platforms at Edwards AFB. This posting is for the support of the 411th Flight Test Squadron, F-22 Combined Test Force (CTF), where Boeing works directly with our Air Force customer and our industry partners supporting its mission to improve the warfighting capabilities of the Air Force through system integration, development, test and evaluation of the F-22 Raptor.The site is comprised of a diverse team of Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) employees who are extremely motivated, skilled, knowledgeable, and highly valued by our customers and business partners.This position requires an active Secret security clearance (last update must be within 5 years) and the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. US Citizenship is required. Active F-22 program access is preferred, but if not currently active, must be able to obtain F-22 program access. If, at any time, the applicant loses their security clearance, this will be grounds for dismissal. Position Responsibilities: Act as Air Vehicle Systems (AVS) Engineer and backup Material Review Board (MRB) Engineer at the F-22 Combined Test Force (CTF) at Edwards Air Force Base (EAFB), CaliforniaThis position will work closely with the Ground Operations group and will be responsible for providing engineering instructions and oversight to troubleshoot various air vehicle subsystems, including Vehicle Management System (VMS)/flight controls, Integrated Vehicle Subsystem Control (IVSC), Stores Management System (SMS)/weapons, Environmental Control System (ECS), hydraulics, landing gear/brakes, fuel system, etc.This position will provide backup support for the Material Review Board (MRB) Engineering group responsible for documenting and dispositioning, discrepant material and structural anomalies on and off the aircraft including research and coordination to obtain and/or create solutions to complex and/or unique situations for use by engineering and maintenance organizationsThis position will also provide backup support for Mass Properties who oversee aircraft weighing, including generating weight and CG files, as well as generating Form F''s for various aircraft configurationsDevelop solutions to a variety of complex problems by interfacing and coordinating with internal and external military, contractor, and civil service personnelThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience): Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistryActive U.S. Secret Security ClearanceEngineering experience with air vehicle systems, i.e., Vehicle Management System (VMS)/flight controls, Integrated Vehicle Subsystem Control (IVSC), Stores Management System (SMS)/weapons, Environmental Control System (ECS), hydraulics, landing gear/brakes, fuel system, etc.Ability to occasionally travel domestically, work flexible hours, overtime and occasional weekends when necessaryPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Active Top Secret ClearancePrevious Material Review Board (MRB) experienceStrong communication and leadership skillsPrevious F-22 experience highly preferredTypical Education:Bachelor''s degree typically 14 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a Master''s degree with typically 12 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
