An Associate has the responsibility to act as the secondary banker on major customer relationships and to perform the functions of business origination support for Global Relationship Managers (GRM''s). As part of a defined business strategy, this role regularly originates both investment products and traditional credit products based on client requirements.Responsibilities include:* Acting in the capacity of the secondary point of customer contact handling all aspects of client relationship with the exception of negotiation of pricing or complex structures* Manage & monitor the execution of operational aspects of business origination as directed by GRM, such as analyzing portfolio profitability, performing all follow-through of any deal origination process, preparing economic capital analysis and managing customer intensive processes (other than credit analytics)* Liaise with Product Group and assist in structuring of deals* Primary contact for Global Network and management of Global Exposure Reports* Maintain proactive, in depth, and up-to-the-minute knowledge of market trends, customer developments and credit issues* Conduct due diligence on proposed client deals as requiredEssential functions and coverage:* Secondary Banker on major client relationships* Execution of operational duties with regard to business origination process at direction of GRM''s (covenant checking, loan documentation checking troubleshooting, problem solving, transaction follow-through, market research, internal/external communications)* Liaison with Overseas Branches / Product Offices / Planning* Preparation of value-added information for marketing materials/customer researchSkills and Requirements:* A Bachelor''s degree, an MBA or comparable amount of related business/industry experience* Corporate Banking experience with a minimum of 2 to 3 years related experience* Credit experience ideally with a money center bank/regional formal credit training or equivalent* Strong business and interpersonal skills* Marketing experience preferred* Financial modeling skills, Excel, Word & PowerPoint experience* Credit training preferredThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
