Job Description

Central Ohio Primary Care is seeking a Patient Accounts Representative-Collector at their Central Business Office in Westerville, OH. The Patient Accounts Representative is responsible for working the outstanding patient balances that have not been paid after the patient has received at least three statements. This position is responsible for reviewing and analyzing the patient''s account to ensure that the balance is patient''s responsibility. The Patient Accounts Representative is responsible for reaching out to patients to collect payment or offer assistance such as placing patients on the COPC approved Payment Plan. This is a full time position working first shift hours Monday- Friday. After training this is a fully remote position. Must reside in the State of Ohio and willing to travel to Westerville as needed.Duties/Responsibilities:Analyze patient account balances to ensure they are patient responsibility.Reach out to patients to obtain payment.Assist patients in establishing a Payment Plan that follows the guidelines of the Board Approved COPC Payment Plans.Collect and process payments on patient accounts.Respond to patient concerns in a courteous and timely manner.Adhere to the HIPAA guidelines regarding confidentiality relating to the release of financial and medical municate effectively and efficiently with physicians, patients, families, co-workers and all others. Act as a customer service expert on patient account matters. Prepare accounts to be transferred to outside collection agencies.Recommend quality and/or process improvement initiatives in order to more effectively and efficiently perform the job functions of this position.Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor.Requirements:High School diploma or GED1 year working in healthcare setting preferred, but not required1 year of customer service experience preferred, but not requiredWorking knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook
