What''s the job?Combining Voice of Customer and technology opportunities for biophysical characterization, you will develop and execute the MicroCal strategic roadmap by joining our team of Product Managers at Malvern Panalytical. This is a diverse and passionate team where you can bring your whole self to work and where we will build on your strengths and support you to develop your career.You will work closely with Global Sales and Marketing, R&D (Research and Development) and Operations teams to balance priorities across the portfolio, aligned to meet the needs of our customers and our ambitious business goals. What will you be doing? Playing the leading role for MicroCal and supporting the broader biophysical characterization portfolio within Malvern Panalytical in a range of ways:Working with Sales, Marketing and Applications colleagues to capture Voice of Customer, build strong Customer value propositions and enable Malvern Panalytical to combine multiple points of differentiation into compelling customers offerings in the Biophysical Characterization spaceSeeking out disruptive approaches and business innovations and assessing their market and business potential in contributing to Malvern Panalytical''s ambitious growth plan.Building effective go-to-market plans, including pricing, marketing plans, sales enablement tools and sales support.Working with cross-functional teams spanning the entire company to deliver solutions to market within our New Value Innovation (NVI) process, along with ongoing developments of launched platforms.What are your responsibilities? Every day will be different, but these areas are where you''ll spend most of your time:You''ll gather and curate market, customer and competitor insight: Working closely with Sales and Marketing to conduct exploration of identified markets and applications to evaluate business attractiveness and feasibility Define and test value propositions and integrate with business cases Evaluate competitive landscape to inform our commercial and development approaches You''ll manage the MicroCal product range, as part of a portfolio teamWorking collaboratively with colleagues to establish and deliver product roadmapsDriving product profitability and financial performance (volume, pricing and margins) Use portfolio management tools to actively manage product lifecycles Working with peers to evaluate ideas and unmet needs with customers and key opinion leaders to build a pipeline for the Biophysical roadmapProactively monitoring solution performance in the market; developing and executing actions with peers in marketing and salesYou will take a leading role in the New Value Innovation (NVI) framework: Collaborating with peers throughout the development process, especially R&D and Project ManagementEstablish and create a network with customers, partners and Key Opinion Leaders in the relevant field(s), in order to provide Voice of Customer and generate ideas in the ''fuzzy front-end'' of the NVI funnel. Translate customer value propositions to user requirements, maintaining prioritized backlog of featuresBalance project scope and time to market, using established business case toolsTest and refine value propositions with customers Take on Agile Product Owner role for defined phase or project, as part of Malvern Panalytical software development process (MAPLE) You''ll work with a Sales and Marketing team on Go-to-market strategies and planning Setting product pricing and positioning at launch and periodically reviewingMaintaining product configuration and quotation tooling Guiding generation of content for sales enablement assets Supporting Sales as the product advocate, including product trainingYou''ll partner with colleagues in other functionsWith Supply chain and operations on demand management activities With Customer Support to resolve escalated customer issuesWith Sales and Applications to identify and respond to current and emerging customer needsYou are the voice of the customer for Product quality Leading communication strategy to sales and customers on product quality issues Providing the Voice of Customer in quality meetings, working closely with leaders at our Northampton centre of excellence in MassachusettsWhat do you need to be successful in this role?Read on and if you recognize yourself, then maybe this is the perfect role for you!You bring together and motivate a team, often without direct management authority, using your persuasive influencing skills You are focused and passionate about providing value to our customersYou have significant experience in applying biophysical characterization tools and techniques to discovery and/or development phases of the drug pipeline; microcalorimetry experience very helpful but not essentialYou understand business dynamics and financial impacts and are motivated to build compelling business cases that bring value to us and our customersYou''re a great analyst - assimilating a wide range of hard and soft information into defined features or tasks You''re great at communicating; effectively sharing vision and clarity with a diverse, cross-functional audienceAs an active listener you ask insightful questions to gather unmet and unknown needs You deliver on your commitments, every time You are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Another language is beneficialYou are happy to travel globally to visit colleagues and customers, up to 20% of your timeYou live quite close to our Northampton, MA site as you will interact with this team often.
